"Tell the chef, the beer is on me."
“ It cannot be ascertained that anyone is innocent whereas it can be stated with certainty that all are guilty ”— Albert Camus, from the book, The Fall.
I’m totally out of inspiration and don’t know what to write about here. Sorry for being so quiet lately. It will only get worse, until my exam gets over on the 7th of June. I haven’t really been surfing the net. So, have absolutely nothing to post.
Four more days before I start on my new job. Last few hours of freedom. After this, I’ll pine for the weekends and for the occasional holidays.
is coming to SF!
1) His tickets are almost sold out. Russell, stop being so popular! Me and my crackhead friends want to get together and buy tix, but we need more time!
2) I’d never actually imagine myself to be the type to go to a comedy club. That is until I ran into Russell’s video on MySpace (back when it doesn’t reak of slimey guys and “musicians”) and almost laughed my way into a six pack.
3) $48 for tickets is a little crazy… I don’t usually even pay that for concerts… This better be damn good! Muahahaha.
4) Nothing to do with Russell, I think I need to be more positive.
Really? Wow! That guy is really funny. I love his Youtube videos.

Dear ex-Blog Friend,
If you want to tear down my blog posts, then at least have the decency to include a trackback. Don’t tell that you are such a coward! I don’t understand why I should agree with all that you’ve got to say about movies and books. Surely we have different personalities. If you can’t deal with some differences, then I don’t see how you will survive in this world. Grow up!
The blogroll at WP.com has become a joke. List anyone who visits your blog. Unlist them when they stop commenting or when they don’t agree with your viewpoints!
I’m thinking of removing my blogroll all together. For good.

Such pretty flowers at the grocery store
I had no doubt regarding the fact that the madness does.not.end after you get a job. In fact, it starts all over again. And that is exactly what’s been happening since last night. I don’t think I’ll survive in the corporate world very long. I long to go back to school and study some more. After all, we live only once. Better use it to do something that you want to. I should probably chalk out a plan to save enough money to go back and get a PhD, and hopefully, start next Fall.
For one of my classes, our teacher asked us to jot down a few sentences about what we thought our writing style was. This led me to think about what I think the perfect and ideal combination of styles would be:
- Haruki Murakami’s brilliant and edgy sentences (Kafka on the Shore)
- Gabriel García Márquez’s magical realism (One Hundred Years of Solitude)
- Khaled Hosseini’s social and human portrayals (The Kite Runner)
- Anita Nair’s beautiful images (Mistress)
- Audrey Niffenegger’s, Anita Shreve’s & Tiffanie DeBartolo’s romance (The Time Traveler’s Wife, Fortune’s Rocks, God-Shaped Hole)
- Antoine de Saint Exupéry’s philosophy (The Little Prince)
- Philippa Gregory’s historical details (The Other Boleyn Girl)
Maybe I’ll think of more later. Or maybe I’ll change my mind and take some authors out. But to me, that would make for an AMAZING book.
Having read Murakami, Marquez,Antoine de Saint Exupéry and Hosseini, I can attest to the fact that they are brilliant. I even like Paul Auster, JM Coetzee, Arundhati Roy, Albert Camus, Naguib Mahfouz and Margaret Atwood.
Just logged into Facebook and saw that they’ve introduced Facebook Chat- nothing new concept-wise. I have lots of friends in my Facebook account and not many of them are in my Yahoo or Gtalk account. But still, I don’t see myself using this chat feature. I log into facebook to scribble short messages or to respond to messages, whenever it is convenient for me to do so. But remaining stuck to that facebook page just because someone wants to chat with me….is really not my thing. I think I will disable it.

Too soon to show so much of affection. Keep them on a leash ;)
A friend’s Swiss ex-husband found it annoying when she and I pranced barefeet around their pristine flat. He thought we were behaving in an uncivil manner. Oh well, pardon me for being from a civilisation that is only a few thousand years old!
Those, who never walk barefeet, also never experience the wetness of sand standing on the beach, the dryness of the sand off the beach; the coldness of the floor in the bathroom, the warmth of heated tiles in the living room; the rough touch of tarmac outside the house when you run after your pet, the soft touch of a silk carpet you step on first thing in the morning.
And some are lopping off toes to squeeze their feet into Choos and Manolos? Sorry, I forgot I am from a civilisation several thousand years old. May be lopping toes is what ‘civilised’ people do now.
I don’t like it when people walk in their dirty shoes in my house. And I don’t see any need for house slippers, if you have a carpeted flooring. I know that there are some people (like my mom) who have to wear house slippers because they can’t tolerate even a minuscule speck of dust. But if your house is extremely clean, then using shoes indoors would be ‘uncivilized’ in my opinion. By the way, who decides what is civilized or what in uncivilized? Not all of us come from the same civilization anyway!
I don’t have much cabinet space in my new kitchen. But I can’t complain because I have a free dishwasher installed. :-) As long as I don’t have to wash dishes by hand, I really don’t care. I’ve started putting away my pots and pans in the oven-something that I never used to do.
