manufacturing bottled water in America alone uses 17 million barrels of crude oil each year

Proud to say that I don’t buy bottled water.

just got back from a heavy dinner. I can feel my tummy almost bursting. And my laptop wont start because the power cord’s spoilt. I’ll browse the net a bit and go to sleep, I guess.

I despise txt spk.

email

it felt so nice receiving an unexpected email from someone today. She used to be very close to me. Then she did something that broke my trust. It’s been more than two years now and I think I don’t hurt anymore. I feel happy to hear from her again.

listening to naomi wolf give a speech at the county library. She talks about freedom, patriotism and the bush administration. She almost told people to vote for Obama. Now wait a minute. Isn’t this an infringement of my voting freedom? Brain washing. People are actually laughing and smiling.

Being powerful is like being a lady. If you have to tell people you are, you aren’t.

Margaret Thatcher

The last thing I am is a Thatcherite, but this quote was quite pertinent today to an office conversation about “coolness”.

I’ve been to this area. It’s quiet and haunting. Very powerful picture btw.

Forestry workers look on as a male Royal Bengal Tiger leaps off a boat into the water after being released back into the wild in The Chamta Forest District of The Sunderbans, in India, on September 4, 2008. The tiger was declared fit for release by veterinarians after it was recently rescued from a nearby village. (via Scenes from India - The Big Picture - via stumblng)
You ever look a picture of yourself, and see a stranger in the background?. It makes you wonder how many strangers have pictures of you. How many moments of other peoples life have we been in. Were we a part of someone’s life when their dream came true or were we there when their dream died. Did we keep trying to get in? As if we were somehow destined to be there or did the shot take us by surprise. Just think, you could be a big part of someone elses life, and not even know it.

This is probably why pictures with a lot of background are some of the best: you get to see the actions of so many people at the same time.

If we could read the secret history of our enemies, we should find in each man’s life sorrow and suffering enough to disarm all hostility.

Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

We need to try and remember this in our daily life.  The barista is a human being.   The cyclist is a human being.  The guy asking for change is a human being.  And you too, are a human being.  Treat them all as such.

Such a humanitarian thought.
