“ We have recently begun to replace sodium lauryl sulphate with a milder surfactant, sodium coco-sulphate. This new material is kinder to the scalp, but still cleans the hair effectively ”—
I’m so glad!

Great…still not enough though… I think I am gonna stop using their shampoo.
“FOR THE GREATER GOOD” ??????
BURT’S BEES IS TOTALLY RUN BY DARK WIZARDS!!!
*paranoia*
Why is it so difficult for you, dear TBS, to ship my stuff on time??? :( Been more than 3 business days since I placed my order. Booooooo!
“ Consumers “walk down the aisle in the grocery stores’ health and beauty area, and they’re confronted with ‘natural’ at every turn,” says Daniel Fabricant, vice president for scientific and regulatory affairs at the association. “We just don’t want to see the term misused any longer.” To prove his own bona fides, Mr. Replogle grabs a bottle of Burt’s Bees avocado butter hair treatment, squeezes some onto his finger and dramatically licks it off. He then passes the tube to two Clorox executives so they can have a taste. “If you can’t put it into your mouth, you shouldn’t put it on your skin,” he says. “I’d like to see other companies do that. ”— Can Burt’s Bees Turn Clorox Green? - New York Times
by Jacquelyn Ramsey—- Great article! Really explains how soap is made, what today’s soap contains and where and what to look for before you buy detergent…oops- soap!
I am soap crazy. Had gone to Walgreens to get something else! Spotted this in the beauty isle and couldn’t resist! Have always been a big fan of Yardley. :) Supposedly natural and NO SLS!

Once I hit puberty and started getting a lot of pimples, my Indian mom suggested that I use Rose Water to wipe my face every couple of hours using a cotton pad. She used to buy me Rose Water (very similar to what’s pictured above) that was contained in a glass bottle with a metallic screw-on lid.
I am not sure when and how I forgot about this age old recipe… probably ever since I came to the US :) The climate here is different. My face doesn’t get sweaty/sticky anymore. Anyway, even though I am no longer a teenager (actually 26 now), recently I started getting a lot of pimples. LUSH’s Herbalism and Grease Lightning, The Body Shop’s Tea Tree Oil line and pure Tea Tree Oil have helped me a lot recently. All the big pimples are gone now.
Mom brought up Rose Water again. I promptly got a bottle from the International Store near my place…I was looking for an India-made Rose Water (which is what I have always used). Unknowingly, I bought a bottle of 100% pure rose water by Cortas (Made in Lebanon) for only $1.99. Yes, $1.99 only. On Amazon, it sells for $5.50~. I didn’t know that Lebanon makes some of the best :) This bottle is really fragrant. I simply love it!
How to use it?
If you have dry skin like I do (or even if you have oily or normal skin), try using this as a skin freshener. Simply wet a piece of cotton wool w/ rose water and wipe your face. Let your face air dry. You’ll love the cooling sensation. Rose water is excellent as a light cleanser and a natural toner. You can also dilute it with water and store it in a spritzer to use as a face mist :) Rose water helps restore the pH balance of your skin. It makes dry skin less dry and oily skin less oily! Best of all, it’s natural :)

I have always wanted to order stuff from Vitacost- I am in luck today because they are running a Cyber Monday special— FREE Shipping on ANY order! :) I bought 5 soaps that I’ve heard a lot about. All of them are SLS, Parabens, Phthalates free. I like LUSH products, but I find their soaps very expensive and very drying…at least the ones I have tried so far. I don’t mind the expense if they do something for my skin though.
Hopefully, the ones I ordered above will be better :) I got most of them at a deep discount! 5 soaps cost me a total of around $8 shipped!
Any soap recommendations for me that you’ve tried or heard of?
-dead- laughing so hard my abs hurt :D
AHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAAHHAHAA
Went to the mall late last evening and got these items from The Body Shop using 3 for $30 deal!
1. Nutriganics Smoothing Mask- Smells so awesome! I probably don’t even need it, but I bought it to try.
2. Wise Woman Vitality Serum- Again, I don’t need it. I’ll give it to my mom. :)
3. Maca Root Shave Cream for Men (200 ml)- Hubby chose this for himself and I didn’t want to say no because I was feeling a lil guilty for dragging him to the mall. Plus, I have bought tons of body care products (for moi) already… :P
4. Mini Hemp Hand Protector- FREE w/ a coupon that I rec’d for buying $5 Joy bag
First time in the mall on Black Friday. It was pretty deserted…7.30 pm at night :) Suits me fine because I am scared of venturing out on a BF. It’s funny how I am buying more TBS stuff these days even though I like LUSH a lot. I attribute this to the fact that TBS is doing great promos :D

Size 16 Miss England contender Chloe Marshall meets the current title holder Georgia Horsley today
The Guildford-born plus-size model weighs 12st 8lb, is 5ft 10in tall and has a 38DD bust.
The 17-year-old trainee beautician was the first size 16 to win the Miss Surrey title, qualifying her for the Miss England finals in July.
She said: “It’s what I was born to do ? posing for the camera. And as I keep saying, I love my body.
“People seem desperate to get me to say that I don’t, that deep down I’m not happy and would rather be thin, but the fact is I wouldn’t change myself at all.
“Do I have fat days? Of course, but what woman doesn’t!”
But although she is the average size for a woman, in the age which has seen the rise of the scarily thin size zero model, she certainly stands out.
Chloe said reaction has been mainly positive, but she admitted in an interview with Hello magazine, that there had been some snide remarks with one writer accusing her of “promoting obesity”.
Chloe told Hello: “I’m a size 16, I eat well, I exercise regularly ? I jog, swim, and work out with weights.
“What I am promoting is a healthy girl who looks after herself and doesn’t try to force her body to be something its not.”
The teenager, who has been signed up by the Models Plus agency, added: “Everybody thinks you have to be a tall, slim blonde and I’m a curvy brunette.
“I want to show it is possible to be beautiful and not a standard size zero.”
“The reaction I’ve had is great. Other girls have told me I have really boosted their confidence, which is terrific.”
“I wanted to make a bit of a statement. When I studied the other entrants for the Miss Surrey competition I concluded that pretty as the contestants were, they were equally all uniformly blonde and Barbie doll like.
“My mum is really happy and proud of me that I am doing something not just for myself but other people as well and my friends are really supportive, they can’t stop going on about it.”
I think she looks really hot! :) And I’m not saying this just to be nice, I really mean it.

"Basically the price of a night on the town!"
"I'd love to help kickstart continued development! And 0 EUR/month really does make fiscal sense too...
