"Tell the chef, the beer is on me."
I have no idea why eBay suspended my account about a month back. The email said “Your account is associated with another suspended account XXXXX”. For re-instatement, please fax documents 1,2, 3 &4. I got so f-ing annoyed! I’ve been meaning to fax my documents since almost a month. Finally got them ready. Now I need to find a fax machine. Or mail these physically. :-\
Items to be faxed:
And then wait for 48-72 hours until someone gets back to you and a decision is made. WTF?! I have 100% rating on eBay. I have never duped anyone. Never stolen anyone’s money! Why don’t they go and catch those people who are actually dishonest and make a living out of it?
I fixed this pair of shoes- one of those golden bows got lost somewhere and I had stopped wearing these. I ordered new green colored bows (pack of 12- couldn’t get a pack of just 2) on Ebay and glued them on! I’m so happy that I can wear these again. :) The green color of the bow stands out and I am loving the new effect.

should also include to say “So why shouldn’t I WORK on “Black Friday”?” (in light of the Walmart employee who got killed due to the mad rush).

My grand mom passed away two days back. I got to know about it yesterday. I knew that she had been keeping unwell since the past couple of months. Still, I always hoped that she will recover. My mom didn’t have the strength to deliver this piece of news and it took a lot of courage on her part. I’m happy that she seems to be holding herself very well. I was not there for her when her best friend died about 1.5 years ago. And I was not there for her two nights back, when her mom left her forever. My mom’s so courageous. She went through all of this alone. She preferred not involving me because she knows how emotional I am. I was speechless last night. All I could do was cry loudly. I was supposed to be strong for my mom. Instead, it was her who was doing all the consoling.
I haven’t seen my grand mom since last August 2007. I remember buying her a box of scented powder. She used that every single day. She refilled the box with another brand of powder and used the powder puff anyway. “It’s very soft”, she said. She was really happy to see me the last time I met her. She gave me a pair of diamond earrings which belong to my mother. My mom used to wear these earrings when she was a spinster.
I miss her so much.
Three nights back, just about the time when she was struggling for her life in the hospital, I dreamed about her. It was a terrible dream. No one was happy. I was crying. My mom lay dead. My grand mom was consoling me and was asking me to be happy. Maybe it was her way of telling me that she’ll leave me soon.
I wish I could hug her one more time, just like I had hugged her last August 2007. I’ll always miss her. She was my favorite grand parent.

Interesting find!

I haven’t bought a thing. I don’t subscribe to the madness and don’t believe in standing outside stores in the middle of the night to save a couple of $$$. From what I know, these deals will continue for the rest of the year because of the poor state of American economy. Every day is Black Friday! If I need to buy anything, I might wait for Cyber Monday.
I’m getting a little sick in the stomach, seeing Mumbai terror attacks coverage on CNN. Most of the times, their news is “stale”, in comparison to the news posted on Twitter.(Just search for #Mumbai). Citizen journalism is turning out to be more comprehensive, well-timed and exhaustive compared to traditional media. Lots of articles on the net that are talking about the power of twitter and bloggers. Lots of bloggers like Arun Shanbag, Vinu etc. have come into limelight because of their responsible journalism- they care for you and me. News channels cover these events only for their own good, to increase their TRP ratings etc.
I have only been a moderate user of Twitter- a couple of tweets here and there. Nothing more. This incident, however, has changed the way I feel about Twitter. It has the potential of becoming a stronger force to reckon with. A force fueled by ordinary people like you and me.
I came across a nicely put Google spreadsheet that has the list of people who are either injured/dead. My eyes welled up with tears. Two of my friend’s friends at Leopold Cafe and another friend of my friend’s younger brother, who was interning as a chef at Taj Mahal Hotel, were shot dead. I was speechless.
Of course, there are haters who talk about the side effects of Twitter and how lots of Tweets were only rumors. I have only one response to these haters- don’t news channels run their business based on rumors too? What’s new?
People have issued statements saying that “people need to tweet responsibly and stop airing all important news on Twitter; this can be used as a weapon etc”. I understand how this can be dangerous, but complainers need to find a way to deal with it! Restricting the use of social networking sites is tantamount to taking away our freedom of speech.
How many citizens sitting in the comforts of their homes and tweeting away to glory have actually done something (donated blood, tried to find information for people who are yet to hear from their loved ones etc.) is questionable. And I’m sure there are others who think this is a great party and a trendy topic to talk about. Leaving such people aside, I do hope that some good comes out of it.

Happy Thanksgiving!
(via breannajai, emilyposts, askvero)
Love Peanuts. This deserves a reblog.
Just got back from a pub and managed to get drunk on two glasses of Bud Light. Aren’t you jealous? it was happy hours and i hardly spent anything! never knew that a pub can be so packed on Thanksgiving weekend. I thought people are supposed to be home, thanking everyone? Anyway! Been a crazy day so far. I purchased a .com domain for $0.99 at godaddy.com (link posted previously). My mom’s mom is not well and she is at the hospital. She might not be able to make it. :( I haven’t seen her since more than a year. She’s my favorite grand parent. I’m trying not to think about it.
Then I heard news of the Bombay blasts. Those f#%^ing terrorits. Hate them! But you know what? Nothing can break the spirit of Mumbaikars! Yes! Life will go on as if nothing every happened. F$%# those terrorists. They have succeeded in drawing attention, but really…if they think that they can do anything more, then they are in for a lot of depression.
I realized that I have a monthly subscription to make unlimited calls to US and Canada numbers through Skype! I should use that more often and save my AT&T minutes. :) I was looking at Magicjack too, but I like Skype better (it’s cheaper to make international calls).
I have been contemplating jailbreaking my iPhone, but I don’t find enough reasons to actually do it. I checked out the apps that are available for a jailbroken iPhone- and they are not THAT impressive.
I am planning to just take it easy for the rest of the days and not do anything specific. I might have to go to Chicago because a friend has been asking me to visit him. I told him that I’ll come, but I’m still undecided. So yeah, I kinda lied. I’m lazy! I like to sleep and I like to waste my time on Tumblr/Twitter and just stay at home.
Happy TG!
