"Tell the chef, the beer is on me."
I so wanted to do a face mask today, but had no time :( Just used Herbalism + Full of Grace. Used the following- I love Juicy Shampoo, BBW Eucalyptus Spearmint conditioner, A Ring of Roses soap, The Body Shop Africa Spa Monoi Massage Oil, Body Shop Spa Wisdom Monoi Moisture Balm (my absolute fav), Body Shop Spa Wisdom Africa Spa Hand and Foot Butter and The Olive Press Balm on my lips! :-) Good night peeps.
This is what my girlfriend looks like right now.
A few months ago she has been diagnosed with breast cancer. She had surgery in May and her entire left breast has been removed (it’s called “total mastectomy”) due to the extension of the cancer mass. Also all the lymph nodes of the left armpit have been removed, to stop the cancer from spreading to the rest of the body.
She now needs a lot of medications (chemotherapy) and side treatments (hormone therapy) that cost a fortune, and I’ve been hoping that our faithful followers could help us, because we cannot afford the medical fees for these treatments, especially since they need to last 5 years!
We currently have more than 5200 followers, if only each one donated $1 we would be able to cover the expenses for a couple of months. If you like this blog and would like to express this appreciation, please consider a small donation to my girlfriend’s fund. No donation is too small, and we will be extremely grateful to each and every donor.
To donate, please click on the picture or on this link.
Thank you very much, from the deep of our hearts.
I teared up reading this. Please consider donating to this worthy cause.
I donated…did you? :-) Please consider donating. Thank you.
A Ring of Roses by LUSH is supposedly REALLY popular. However, I am not sure if it’s working for me. I’ve used it thrice so far. It has a very floral smell, which I quite like. However, the soap doesn’t lather when used without a loofah. With loofah, I do get some lather. But I only use loofahs with shower gels. Yes, I know I’m silly, but that’s how I like it :P This soap works fine as long as I combine it with Aqua Mirabilis + Oil + Body Butter. Tonight, I got a little lazy and skipped out on the oil. Well, BIG MISTAKE. My back was extremely itchy. Soap + Body Butter combo wasn’t enough for my super dry skin. And I live in Texas, where it’s not even cold cold. Oh well. I think I am going to let my hubby finish this soap for me ;)
I want to count the number of LUSH products I use on a daily basis—
Herbalism
Grease Lightning
Full of Grace
Some kinda soap
Aqua Mirabilis
Face Mask
One of my many massage bars
Shampoo- one of many
So the list is not that long (but I’m a recent convert) ;)
Roses and limes smell awesome together. Limes are a great way to dry up your oily skin. Lime juice has citric acid which sucks up oils found on the surface of skin. Limes help reduce acne breakouts on the skin also and shrink pores.
3 cups of liquid milk or 2 cups of powder milk. 2 Cups of real rose petals Rose Essential oil 5 Drops 3 limes 3 drops of lime essential oil
I have been using Herbalism cleanser since the past 2-3 days and I love it! Thank you to the SA for recommending it. Actually, my mom bought it first and told me how wonderful it is and I couldn’t agree more. My skin is pretty dry around my nose. I have breakouts on my cheeks, chin and some on my forehead. I think I have dry to combination skin, if that makes sense. Anyway, the official instructions say that you should only use it one in two days or so. Since I find it to be very mildly exfoliating, I chose to use it 1-2 times a day, which might be too much for a lot of you. However, I think it is working for me….so far. I did notice 3 extra white heads this morning. I am not sure if it is because of this cleanser. I will use it for another week before arriving at any conclusion. I am storing the entire container in the fridge (lid open) to prevent it from going bad. I have broken a tiny piece from the big chunk and am storing that on my sink. I take a very tiny amount, put some warm water, make a paste and apply it to my face and neck. If I’m not in the shower, I clean it off using a washcloth (less messy). I follow this up with Grease Lightning (also newly acquired).
Btw, I <3 Grease Lightning too— I apply a thin layer all over my face. It is mildly moisturizing too. It has reduced some of my breakouts by a noticeable amount. I applied it to those 3 whiteheads today morning and they’re almost gone! No kiddin’.
So my skin care routine as of now is - Herbalism/Baby Face (if I have make up on) + Grease Lightning + Full of Grace Serum (for dry skin). Every 2-3 days, Oatifix face mask (which is almost over). I liked the face mask, but it didn’t really do a lot for my skin. I think I am going to ditch it and get Cosmetic Warrior to treat my breakouts.
Took a night time shower using Sultana of Soap from LUSH for the first time. It is very soft and seems more moisturizing compared to other soaps. IT MELTS WAY TOO FAST though. Also, those raisins and currants on the top are useless except for decorative purposes. They fell off and got lumped together around the stopper. :( I didn’t find the smell overly intoxicating though. I like strong smells in bath products…maybe that’s why. I topped it off with Aqua Mirabilis body butter and then Bewitched Massage Bar as a moisturizer. My skin feels well moisturized now! I have very dry skin. Most of you might not even need so much of layering.
Anyway, I am sure I am going to reorder Sultana of Soap again. Not sure how long I can afford to use it, esp. since it disappears too fast.
One shampoo bar equals 3 regular sized shampoo bottles. They last 60-80 washes. What?! Plus they are super effective. What could be better?
My LUSH Stash :) Not really a lot, but it is a lot considering the fact that my madness started only about 2 weeks back.
Soaps: Angel’s Delight, Lemslip, Honey Waffle, Ring of Roses, Sultana of Soap, Snow Globe, Banana Moon
Shampoo: Juniper Breeze, Squeaky Green, and a sample of Reincarnate (which I am using now).
Cleanser: Baby Face
Serum: Full of Grace
Body Butter: Aqua Mirabilis, King of Skin
Massage Bars: Hottie, Bewitched, Business Times, Strawberry Feels Forever
Conditioner: Jungle, and Forever in Bloom (sample)
Masks: Mask of Magnaminty (big jar), Oatifix
Scrub: Sugar Plum Fairy
Since the past 2-3 nights, my night time regime involves first cleaning my face with Baby Face followed by the serum full of Grace. I bought the Oatifix Face Mask ($5.95/pot) last weekend. I think the fresh face masks are pretty cheap compared to their other products. I understand that people don’t want to spend $5.95 every two weeks. I am hoping that it will last me longer somehow :P I don’t mind using it for another week beyond expiration date. Anyway, this is the first fresh face mask that I am using (actually have it on my face now) and it feels so moisturizing. The smell is pretty awesome too. I love bananas and this mask smells so awesome. I wish I could eat it, seriously.

This is what it looks like after one use- I didn’t have trouble smearing it on my face. It is pretty thick though. You can water it down using plain water or even better- MILK- if you have really dry face like I do. :-) I just used it in its original consistency though.

I am storing Baby Face in my shampoo bar tin- received the tin for free because I bought two shampoos.

Also storing Full of Grace in my body butter tin- again, received it for free.

All pictures taken using iPhone 4. Actually love the picture quality :-)
My NEW JOB had their birthday celebration, on Saturday, and this was the limited edition product they had! Honey Hugs smells just like Honey I Washed the Kids and it is AMAZING!
Were you at the LUSH store in Macy’s San Antonio yesterday? :-) That is my store and I went to their Birthday party too. I saw this on the table too…weirdly, I never bought it. And now, I am regretting it completely! :(
Tonight is the date night with my hubby! So this is what I used-
My skin feels so soft and amazing right now :-) I wish I could eat myself. :P
I got converted to a LUSH junkie very recently. Spotted the store for the first time when I was in Vegas in 2009. That time, my impression was very abysmal. The sale reps came across as pushy, loud and over enthusiastic. I got a free hand massage (As far as I can remember), got intimidated and ran out of the store.
So, I stayed in St. Louis for more than 2 years and never stepped into a LUSH store. They have a full sized one and another mini store at Macy’s. Anyway, I moved to San Antonio recently and spotted the mini store at Macy’s over here. Could smell the store from such a distance. Got back home and googled the hell out. Found tons of Youtube videos. Even though I am currently sitting on 50 pounds (weight) of BBW stash, I have convinced myself that I need LUSH.
Placed a huge order with LUSH UK online because products are so much cheaper over here. Got it a couple of days back! I wish I could sleep with LUSH stuff on my bed =)
Anyway, I had my first in-store LUSH shopping experience today. Our local store was celebrating their 2nd Birthday. I RSVP’ed before hand. They had drawing every 10 mins, a special drawing for people who had worn LUSH inspired hats, and another drawing for LUSH legends. Lots of people also participated in some store games. Anyway, this is what I got-
I was really hoping that my store would have something like ” Spend X and get a goodie bag”. I even had my shopping list ready :( Since they didnt have any such offer, I didn’t buy much. Then again, I DID BUY TONS OF STUFF JUST EARLIER THIS WEEK.
It was pretty cool to meet other LUSH enthusiasts with very interesting personalities. Never seen ladies so passionate about a bath and body care brand! :) This one lady really wanted me to buy Karma solid perfume. She rubbed some on my arm and told me that it’ll help me snag men ;) LOL.
I’ll post a picture of my LUSH stash tomorrow! Need to get some sleep now.
“ If 1 in 5 people in the US switched from liquid shampoo to solid, about 22 million plastic bottles would be saved from the landfill. On top of this, 6 million tonnes of preserved shampoo would be prevented from entering the environment. ”— LUSH USA
They replaced my cracked iPhone 4 for FREE! No questions asked. I took longer to drive to the Store, in fact. It helps that I had a really tiny scratch/crack in the lower right hand corner…the Genius said, “You shouldn’t have to live with a cracked iPhone, esp. when it’s so new!”. Yes, my phone’s less than a month old. Maybe that helped? Dunno. Anyway, thank you Apple <3

"I'd love to help kickstart continued development! And 0 EUR/month really does make fiscal sense too...
