This must be Thursday. I could never get the hang of Thursdays.

Actually, I do get a hang of Thursdays- I start getting ready for Friday. ;)

Love is a temporary madness, it erupts like volcanoes and then subsides. And when it subsides you have to make a decision. You have to work out whether your roots have so entwined together that it is inconceivable that you should ever part. Because this is what love is. Love is not breathlessness, it is not excitement, it is not the promulgation of eternal passion. That is just being “in love” which any fool can do. Love itself is what is left over when being in love has burned away, and this is both an art and a fortunate accident. Those that truly love, have roots that grow towards each other underground, and when all the pretty blossom have fallen from their branches, they find that they are one tree and not two.

In other words, hang on even though you think that your life is monotonous.. And dependent. And fight like cats and gods. Because it might just be worth it. Probably a place where I never thought I would be. And here I am!

I Heart Math T-Shirt

Well put.

Me too. I wish I could start a Masters in Math.

I believe it, because I can feel it. And this is just the beta version…obviously the bugs will get ironed out eventually.

Chrome- Second Impression

Still fast, but doesn’t open many of my company web pages on the intranet. Also, the alignment/layout gets screwed. I had some sporadic trouble with Facebook too.

Just noticed- While aligning the text in this text editor, the text doesn’t move fast enough…I still see it in the old spot for a good 20 secs. Also, the first few letters in the text editor are invisible for at least 20 seconds…very weird.

iPhone?

My current cell phone contract expires in the first week of October and I feel tempted to buy the iPhone, even though I know that the monthly bill is exorbitant and may not really be worth it. Someone please tell me that it’s not a good idea.

Exactly! Why is it so difficult for people to understand this?

Women spend 136 days of their lives getting ready for a night out - enough time for an astronaut to fly to the moon and back 22 times.

Women Spend 3,276 Hours Primping Themselves (via marrina, via beenthinking)

The article later goes on to say: “Where does the pressure for women to waste more time painting the barn come from? It’s far and away more from women than from men. Women do it to themselves, have no one else to blame. Call it the reward of vanity…” Of course, this ignores the historical fact that for thousands of years, women were denied any position in society other than to be pretty accessories to men.

This was discussed a lot when Hillary Clinton was still in the presidential race. Clinton spent an hour to an hour-and-a-half extra every morning getting ready when compared to her male counterparts, solely because of the requirements of hair and make-up. Was this optional for Clinton? No. In this world, there is a certain degree of required “preening” for women in order to be viewed as professional. If Clinton had not had every hair in place and basic make-up (foundation, mascara, blush, lipstick), trust me, it would have been the hot topic of the day and it would have had an impact on her image as a professional, capable woman.

Silly, I know. But you know, we women do it to ourselves…

Collectivist thinking or herd-mentality at its best! :-)

(via obiterdicta)

Reminds me of a male friend who says that his girl is not girly enough, because she doesn’t know how to put make up or carry a hand bag. She prefers a sporty wallet, pair of sneakers and a basketball to play with. And then men complain about the hours spent by a woman painting herself.

Geek 1.0 vs. Geek 2.0

I don’t really know how much i agree with this comparison but its a cool picture.

I still need a watch.

I heart Google Chrome

just downloaded it at work and my first impression : WOW!

Clean UI. Lots of window space. Extremely simple. Very fast. Love love love it. Can’t wait to get back home and install it on my PC. Give it a try if you already haven’t!

The priority seating on the CTA needs to have a sign above it that says ‘Attention: Your fat ass is not a disability.’

Can’t we do something similar to prevent the misuse of disability parking? Everyone (except those who are truly disabled) make use of that space. Annoys me…always.

Today i was thinking of a couple of friends i used to have .. and the only word that comes to my mind is “JUST” … aah good times !

— Time changes all ..!

I’m feeling the same way since the past couple of weeks. Things change. People change. We get to know them better and sometimes, it doesn’t help! I still have them as my friends…but I’m not sure whom I value more, whom I value less.

Why did it take freaking 3 minutes for me to re-blog a simple photo? (See below). Something up/down with Tumblr server? And I thought that my SQL query at work is slow…ZzzZ.
