The Most Frequently Used Features in Microsoft Office

Google playing the messiah again by saying that “Paste is also far-and-away the number one command in Excel and PowerPoint, accounting for 15% and 12% of total command use, respectively. Beyond the top 10 commands or so, however, the curve flattens out considerably…Google Docs auto-saves documents so you don’t need to press the Save button, while the undo feature has a powerful complement in revisions.”

Yeah right! This is like comparing Apples with Oranges. We don’t use Google Docs to prepare official documents for work purposes either. I just use it to quickly save something. That’s it. I’m not a big fan of Microsoft either, but it pisses me off when Google starts talking like a 2 year old.

Two things that worry me slightly

jonathandeamer:

i) I’ve just spent half an hour tidying up my Google Reader (weeding out blogs I no longer read, putting a better folder system in place etc.)

ii) I found it hugely satisfying

Am I a bit of a saddo?

No! not at all. I do this all the time myself. I have a special fetish for keeping all my email inboxes squeaky clean, tag emails, delete spam, trash, keep my feeds in different folders. Just makes me feel so organized. -Ruhi

I can’t believe that I already have 91 photos in less than a month’s time.

Fantastic example of how prejudices work against girls. In fact, I’ve always stood first in school and college. During high school, there was this guy who couldn’t digest this fact and he openly “challenged” me that he would fair better in the finals. I stood first. Ha! I don’t know why I’m talking about this incident, but I guess this comic made me really upset.

I spent a good part of yesterday afternoon either removing or colouring every hair on my body [bar the downy, invisible bits] and whilst I was in the shower, it occurred to me how ludicrous it is that women are expected to do this.  Putting aside the fact that I enjoy colouring my hair - or the end result of it, at least - and that it feels nice to have smooth legs etc, it is not entirely by choice that I do this.  If I don’t do it, I risk rejection by not just men, but most of society.

So, I turn myself into and present to the world something that is not organic and not as I truthfully am.   But that’s life to a large degree, isn’t it?

That said, I’m not giving up hair removal or dye any day soon.  It was just something I was thinking about.

This is the exact thought that was racing through my head today, while I was taking a shower. Why do we need to take care of our looks so much? I’m tired of waxing my arms, legs and underarms, upper lips, shaping my eye brows, cutting my hair etc. I wish I could just let them be. We had this thing going on in college last Fall- One entire month, all guys and girls, no need to shave/wax etc! What a liberty! I wish I’d joined that movement. It pisses me off when I read stuff like “Can’t tolerate women with hairy arms” in guys’ profiles. I want to tell them, “Buzz off!”. (Not that I don’t shave…in fact, I can get away without shaving for at least 1.5 months…yes my hair growth is very slow). But still…we care. Being a woman is not so easy. And did I even talk about PMS?

Five (really) good things. Just for me. Today.

katydid:

Katy came up with this great idea to write about five really good things that I did today. So here’s my list:

  1. Technically, today started at 12 am. So the best part was going to sleep only at 7:30 am, after wasting the entire night doing silly stuff.
  2. Woke up very late- 2:50 pm.
  3. Cooking amazing tomato and onion sandwiches, which my guy really liked. He’s quite picky about food. So if he liked it, then it’s good enough, really.
  4. Talking to my mom and happy to know that my parents are back home from the trip.
  5. Re-designing my main blog and also downloading lots of K2-style themes. (This is the reason for staying awake all night…) So I’ll keep changing the look every couple of days. :) I love the WP.com CSS upgrade.

Very interesting picture, because it shows how much our lives have changed because of the internet. I do read a lot of books, but I also spend a lot of time online on my laptop, reading stuff on the internet.

LMAO! This reminds me of another switch board that had Jesus on it…anybody seen that one? This is certainly more “respectable”.

I love that word “dopamine”. In fact, I’m going to use this line on my guy today and see his reaction.

I’m going to do this the next time I catch a cold. And click a similar pic. You should do it too and put it up on your tumblelog and turn it into a tag game.
