"Tell the chef, the beer is on me."
Just had a nice time going through some old chat posts using the “filter” option and laughed at them. It’s so nice maintaining this tumblelog and traveling back in time. I think starting this tumblelog was one of the best decisions that I’ve made so far.
I’ll make it a point to add more personal conversations, observations here starting 2009!
Currently, I’m busy thinking about my upcoming DC trip. Weird that I land on 25th December, when everything will be closed. I’m booking an old trolley 1-Day trip for 12-26, which will take me around most of the monuments, memorials and museums. The rest of my itinerary is quite open. I need to see a couple of friends, that’s all. I hope it’s not too cold though. I’ll be ready with my boots, muffler, beany cap and gloves. :| CNN keeps informing me about the flight delays due to the horrible weather conditions.
Two more days of work- tomorrow and day after- and then I’m off till 5th of Jan. Yay!
Love these Russian dolls. I have a set in my headboard.

AT&T has finally credited back $80 back to my account. Since the inception of my account with them, they have been charging me for mobile-to-mobile AT&T calls that are supposed to be free. I did call them twice in Sept (when I started my account), but the customer rep said that they are not charging me and to wait till the actual bill arrives to verify the charges. Since I didn’t see any extra charges, I thought that the bill was okay. It was only until I received this month’s bill that I realized that I have been right all along!
The first rep refused to understand what I’m trying to say. He was basically behaving like a complete asshole. He said that even if my bill is wrong, he can’t give me back $80 instantaneously. I’ll have to wait until my next bill to see the credit!!?! He opened a ticket for me to get my bill double checked. I never heard back from him.
I called back three-four days later. Customer rep # 2 told me that customer rep # 1 hadn’t submitted complete details. Hence, my bill hadn’t been submitted for verification. She re-filled all forms and told me that she will call me back in 3-5 business days.
I decided to call them back for the third time tonight. Luckily, customer rep # 3 turned out to be really nice because she’s been through the same crap. She credited $80 back to my account and compensated me for the wrong billing by crediting 700 rollover minutes for free. She says that I’ve got to wait until the next bill to see 700 extra mins. I do see $80 instant credit :-) Plus, my billing has been fixed!
I was with T-mobile before this for more than two years and except for one incident, I’ve never had any problem with them. I shifted to AT&T only because of iPhone.
I’m gonna keep my fingers crossed now!
Lime juice is quite famous in India. That’s what I drink, anyway.

who was so f-ing rude to me! I called up to ask about my package and whether it was delivered because the online tracking says that it was “processed and left”. She was like “No, it can’t say LEFT! Not possible Not possible”. And I was like “Uhh…that’s what it says here?”. Next thing I know, she started cutting me off and went on a monologue. I disconnected the line after muttering “thank you for your excellent customer service”.
I felt really mad, not sure why. So I called back in order to speak to a manager. She was the manager! And I told her how unprofessional she had been and that I had only called up to get some sort of a confirmation regarding the status and that I am ready to send a screen shot to her and prove that I was not lying about the “left” part. So she says “I’m not giving you my email address!”. Me: OK, don’t. But don’t talk to me like I’m a liar. If I knew everything, I wouldn’t have called up. And then, she said the most outrageous thing:
WHO GAVE YOU THIS NUMBER ANYWAY??!! This is a delivery center.
Me: Stunned And then I said “It’s on your USPS website, where else?”
I feel sorry for these employees who work in such boring jobs. It just shows how frustrated they are. And now I’m writing this post to get the negativity out of my system. This sucks.
