What are you gonna look forward to after Christmas and New Years' is over?

Just wondering…I’ll be thoroughly depressed after my min-vacation comes to an end.

I'm so Tired

Woke up at 11 am because of all the boozing that I indulged in the previous night.

Things done so far:

  1. Printed the boarding pass and checked in online
  2. Booked shuttle service to take me to the hotel
  3. Printed a DC metro map
  4. Made my bed
  5. Took out the suitcase that I’ll be carrying
  6. Made the important decision of not checking in any baggage. There are too many lost bags and flight delays during the holiday season as it is. Best to travel light.
  7. Piled up the clothes that need to be washed.
  8. Made a mental note of the clothes that I want to carry
  9. Spent an obscene amount of time on Twitter..
  10. Spent hours watching CNN.

Things still need to be done:

  1. Do my laundry
  2. Book a city tour trip, maybe. Will decide in the evening.
  3. Actually pack my bags
  4. Wash all dishes and clean everything else before leaving tomorrow morning
  5. Charge camera batteries
  6. Delete old pics from my SD cards
  7. Decide whether just boots will be enough or if I should carry a back up pair of shoes too
  8. Decide which_ desi_* restaurant to visit tomorrow

*desi- common word used to denote anything “Indian” in the US.

And yeah, call up tomorrow morning to check if the flight is on time. Then park the car at some parking lot near the airport and reach the airport on time. Last time, I almost missed my flight because I couldn’t find the parking lot which I had looked up online.

Haha. Very cute.

My 12 days of vacation time starts now!

Just got back home and I’m brimming with excitement. Anyone knows of any fab place that I should check out in DC? I’ll be there for four days.

Campaign 2008: Patchwork Nation: Happy Holidays or Merry Christmas? | The Christian Science Monitor

So, I’m not Christian. Still, I wish people “Merry Christmas!” without taking any offense. My co-worker actually wished me “happy holidays!” and I wished him back saying “Merry Christmas!”. He seemed a little surprised. But really, this is not a big deal for me at all. I don’t even care too much about religion anyway.
To love. To be loved. To never forget your own insignificance. To never get used to the unspeakable violence and the vulgar disparity of life around you. To seek joy in the saddest places. To pursue beauty to its lair. To never simplify what is complicated or complicate what is simple. To respect strength, never power. Above all, to watch. to try and understand. To never look away. And never, never to forget.

One of my all time favorite authors. Love her book The God of Small Things.

Just a reminder.

My personal favorite. Saw it twice in the theater. Still not enough.
