Chocolates were more popular compared to Roses and Diamonds on 2/14.
I wanted to go to the gym today. Then I got lazy. As usual. Now I’m enjoying Friday evening…drinking OJ.

What's On My Mind?

I can’t get work off my mind. If I’m at work, I work. When at home, I think about work! I’m getting into this crazy vicious cycle. It doesn’t help that my company laid off some contractors and that the budget is tight. So we are not making any major enhancements and only providing support for existing apps. If it is not a priority, we are not fixing the bug. I work as a Business Analyst on a contract basis. If my team runs out of money, I’ll be the first one to go. My team lead has assured me that I’m safe for now and that she has money for me…but who knows? I don’t even know if I’ll find another job in this bogus economy.

Oh, I’m getting a new laptop at work next Tuesday. :-) Looks like all my emotions are related to work. I slogged all of this week to finish writing the requirements of this application. I am not very happy with it though…I think I could have done better. Doesn’t help that the business user is confused like hell and doesn’t know what exactly she wants. :-\ Oh well.

The Euro is a currency for countries that don’t have enough famous people to put on their bank notes

Nice quote and I really want to believe this in light of the recession going on over here.

Ah. Good to know I was a zombie through most of college. Maybe that’s why I hate them so much?

I got more than 8 hours of sleep, had a good social life and straight As. I guess I defied the law of physics.

I just saw Oliver Stone speak at my local video store, Vidiots. He’s not one of my favorite directors, but it was pretty cool nonetheless. I’m gonna watch “W” now…

WOW. He is one of my favorites…loved Wall Street, Born on the 4th of July, Salvador, Nixon, JFK…crap..I wish I could see him once.

Can Non Society Make Money Lifecasting?

roamin:

AppScout/ Kyle Monson

“The same week that the former Fake Steve Jobs/current real Dan Lyons writes that you can’t make huge amounts of money blogging, the Non Society ladies roll out a new plan to make money on lifecasting.

The site launched July 13 of last year, and is run by Gawker icons Julia Allison, Meghan Asha, and Mary Rambin. It’s essentially their three streams of consciousness, with constant updates, video clips, photos, and links to whatever interests them on the Web on a given day.

A new update launches today which throws advertising into the mix, and introduces a few UI tweaks to the customized Tumblr design (all content is now horizontal, laid out like a timeline). As for the ads, Non Society says “It’s one thing to expose our lives, it’s another thing to go broke doing it!” Fair enough. There are the usual contextual—and ugly—Google text ads at the bottom of the site (which, if Lyons is right, they might as well do away with), and a box ad at the end of each girl’s timeline. The ads are also supplied by Google right now; I’m assuming they’ll be replaced by “real” ads at some point in the future.

But as the money gets thinner for online advertising and even for ad networks like Glam Media and Federated Media, maybe the real value…”

Exactly what I was thinking when I saw those ads. They look ugly and hideous. How many hits do they get anyway? Plus who’s stupid enough to click on those Google ads? Why spoil the look of the site for a couple of hundred bucks? Surely they don’t need that money!

I am so happy that I didn’t waste my money on any of V-Day overpriced chocolates/cards/jewellery/gifts etc. Who needs 2/14 to express his/her love?

who is on twitter?

aja:

  1. people who are just back from a really awesome run
  2. people who are involved with “computers”
  3. DJs
  4. DJs at the airport
  5. DJs who are drunk
  6. people who don’t have anyone’s email address
  7. people who are mad at television
  8. people who have forgotten how to email
  9. people who have forgotten how to text
  10. people who are involved in “social networking” and optimizing the power of re-Tweeting and “computers”
  11. people who can’t find a reasonable picture of themselves
  12. people who really like the news
  13. DJs at the airport

I think this might be true. I have more time now compared to what I had when I was busy “Tweeting” and “networking”. I have discovered that I can live without it.
